Vision Camps
Each team member of Polio Vision 2010 will take one suit case for themselves and another with eyeglasses for our vision camp. Optometrists in India will be testing people for glasses during the fall of 2009. An optometrist in Windsor will be matching discarded glasses to those readings and will package the eye wear for shipment. As part of our tour we will help distribute the glasses.
In addition a cataract surgery program will be set up with local Indian doctors. People wishing to donate to that program are asked to email our treasurer, Joan Donaldson, to make arrangements for their donation. The cost per eye is only $180 USD.
